A Sustainable Guide to LA

As an LA kid who's passionate about the outdoors & sustainable living, I'm excited to share some of my favorite eco spots and experiences in my favorite city. Whether you're a lifelong Angeleno, a recent transplant, or just visiting for the weekend, I hope this list offers you something fun & exciting!

*You'll probably notice that many of the recommendations are on the west side, and that's because it's where I've lived for most of my adult life in LA! If you have any recommendations that I missed, feel free to DM me, and I'll add them!

GETTING AROUND

While LA is definitely a car city, we do have public transportation and bike lanes to help keep your trip low-carbon! Check out the metro map to see where the local trains and buses run in your area. We also have Metro Micro, which is a smaller call-to-ride bus service you can use.

There are improvements to Metro stops all over the city as we prepare for the 2028 Olympics!

The downtown Union Station is BEAUTIFUL! And that's where you can catch Amtrak trains that go all the way from Seattle to San Diego.

Cities all over LA County are now improving their bike lanes. You'll notice green-painted bike lanes, sometimes with barriers, to keep you safe as you bike or scooter around town.
